Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport Announces Leadership Changes

 

Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (ISG), the second largest airport in Türkiye wishes to announce the successful conclusion of its operator Malaysia Airports’ strategic collaboration with IC Holding. This collaboration, which had commenced with the appointment of Serhat Soğukpınar as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on 26 December 2023, has achieved significant milestones in optimising airport operations.

With the conclusion of this collaboration, Serhat Soğukpınar will be stepping down from his role as CEO of ISG effective May 31, 2024. Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) extends its deepest gratitude to Soğukpınar for his leadership and contributions during this transformative period. In ensuring a seamless transition and continued focus on operational excellence, Kerem Maybek, ISG’s current Strategic Planning and Treasury Management Director will serve as Covering CEO until the new CEO officially assumes the role. A candidate has been identified and the announcement will be made soon.

MAHB wishes to affirm its commitment to effectively and continuously operate ISG and provide the high standard of service to our passengers.

It has been one of the fastest growing airports over the past few years, named as Türkiye’s 2nd and Europe’s 8th busiest airport. ISG was founded by Limak-GMR-Malaysia Airports consortium and carried out its activities as of 1 May 2008. MAHB became the sole operator of Sabiha Airport on 23 October 2014 by acquiring 100% of ISG.
