Istanbul Airport Tops the List as Europe’s Busiest Airport
Istanbul Airport became the busiest airport in Europe with an average of 1,401 flights per day from May 15th to 21st, according to the European Aviation Report released by Eurocontrol.
During this period, Istanbul Airport ranked first among the busiest airports in Europe, surpassing Amsterdam Schiphol with an average of 1,330 flights and London Heathrow with 1,302 flights per day.
IGA, the operator of Istanbul Airport, shared the news on their social media accounts, stating, “According to the data for the 20th week published by Eurocontrol, Istanbul Airport is at the top of Europe with an average of 1,401 flights per day. We thank all our passengers for choosing us.”
